Why don't they like something like blue roses. They're harder to get anyways.

I think it's cause gold roses never die/wilt. I prefer any other flower over the gold ones, myself. pirat

A lot of people want them to help get their grass back. That way you don't have to walk where your grass is trying to grow to water wilted flowers, since the gold roses never wilt.
